AT CAFES FAIRONT FOR 20 HOURS? Due to the accelerated spread of coronary infection, the state will consider tightening epidemiological measures this week.

The virus needs to be controlled where it spreads the most, and those are mass gathering places, primarily catering facilities. Although this can have bad economic consequences, the first and next epidemiological measure, which is also defended by members of the crisis staff, could be a new restriction on the work of the catering facilities until 8:00 p.m.

According to “Novosti”, crisis staff members are still considering whether such a measure should be valid for the whole country or only for the largest potential hotspots: Belgrade, Kragujevac, Valjevo and some other places where there is an increase in the number of infected.

Professor Dr. Branislav Tiodorović, epidemiologist and crisis staff member, has no dilemma in which direction to proceed:

– The problem is that there are those who do not respect the measures, but also the control of those measures. It is not yet time to introduce a curfew, because we belong to the three countries that have the lowest infection rate per 100,000 cases.

It says that the majority of new patients in Serbia are people in their 20s to 40s, posing a risk to all the elderly around them:

– In the next 10 to 15 days, we expect an increase in the number of patients, because most young people live in a house with one or two more generations.

The director of the WHO in Serbia, Marijan Ivanuša, believes that there is not much time for a reaction:

– A large number of infected people are registered in Serbia, the situation is serious. The deterioration must be stopped as soon as possible, because it can be seen that the countries that have not done so have great challenges ahead. Serbia has done a lot in the last period, but there is room for improvement. The most important are public health measures: restriction of meetings and use of masks.

The corona section, with 341 confirmed cases of infection and one death from kovid, is significantly better than in the previous days, but on Mondays we always have fewer confirmed cases due to fewer tests over the weekend. There are 39 patients with respirators and 107 infected people were hospitalized in 24 hours. There are currently 768 kovid patients in hospitals.

In Belgrade, 70% of the capacity of the covid-hospital has already been filled, although the temporary hospital in the “Arena” has been used since Sunday. Health Minister Zlatibor Lončar says that patients will be redeployed at the VMC in Karaburma, KBC “Dr Dragiša Mišović” and KBC “Bežanijska kosa”: those in better condition will be transferred to “Arena”.

– It is a model that will be valid for new patients and at the level of the whole country – Lončar specified.

At the meeting with the hospital directors, details were agreed on about the start of the works of the new kovid hospitals that are being built in Batajnica and Kruševac:

– We have to prepare for that, thousands of doctors and other medical and non-medical personnel are needed for these hospitals to function – Lončar said. – We are preparing for the worst case scenario. I think we relaxed more than we should.

When we respect the measures, as the minister said, we had the best result in Europe, but “we have a problem where they are not implemented, they are massive concentrations.”

The number of examinations at KBC “Bežanijska kosa” has tripled, and in this covid center alone there are 236 covid patients.

– Two weeks ago, there were 30 to 40 exams in 24 hours, now there are more than a hundred – says Dr. Bogdan Crnokrak, deputy director of the KBC “Bežanijska kosa”. – And the number of hospitalized has increased dramatically, from five to seven to more than 40 in 24 hours. Currently, four fifths of our total capacity is full.

A five-month-old baby is also being treated in the Children’s Clinic of the “Dragiša Mišović” Clinical Hospital. Dr. Olivera Ostojić, director of the clinic, says that seven children who receive treatment at that institution are in good condition.

OTHER 50,000 VACCINES

Additional quantities of the seasonal flu vaccine are arriving at the HEALTH CENTERS of Serbia. Minister Zlatibor Loncar says two deliveries are expected in the coming days, a total of 50,000 imported doses.

– There are “Torlak” vaccines in health centers that are absolutely safe and can be received by citizens from 18 to 65 years old – Lončar said. – We have a record coverage with vaccination and that is a good precondition so that seasonal viruses do not cross the corona.
