Today, the Association “Protector of Serbian Entrepreneurs and Entrepreneurs” expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s decision to close retail stores on weekends and allow supermarkets to sell food products.
The open letter of that association sent to the Government of Serbia and the competent ministries indicates that, in addition to food, other goods such as clothes, toys, furniture, electronics are sold in large retail chains and that small stores cannot sell for the purposes of week.
In this way, a greater concentration of people is created in a single place (supermarket) instead of that number of people being distributed in several facilities. “Small businesses have not been overcrowded for a long time, and it rarely happens that there are more than two or three people at the same time in a boutique, toy store, gallery and similar facilities,” said the Association.
It is added that hairdressers and beauticians who attend appointments and “live off the weekend” are prohibited from working on weekends, without a single rate being reduced.
“In this way, it is once again making it very clear that the objective is to destroy a small national businessman that fills the budget with excessive taxes from which the public sector lives, and especially the cumbersome bureaucratic sector,” representatives of the government told the government.
