Very good news from Nemanjina. The impression you get on the first ball is: there is hope …

Thus began Arno Gujo his impression of the Government of Serbia.

– It is a great honor for me to inform you that in today’s session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, I was appointed Director of the “Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This is a part for me personally, but also for my whole family. Now I have a great responsibility. I no longer represent myself or my humanitarian organization, but the State of Serbia. I am aware that I will be more exposed than before for that and that now I am leaving my comfort zone … But I know that I will also be able to work even harder, better and more efficiently for the benefit of the country that I have chosen from my heart.

When I read the basic objectives of the Directorate that I will lead, I did not hesitate for a long time to accept or not:

– Preservation and development of the spiritual, national and cultural independence of the Serbian people outside the homeland.
– Improve the position of the diaspora and Serbs in the region.
– Economic and cultural networking with Serbia.
– Preservation of the Serbian language and the Cyrillic alphabet.

Everything is worth fighting for, even when the fight seems uneven. The Kosovo and Metohija Serbs, with whom I spent 16 years of my life, taught me by example that I should never give up. The work that awaits me now is enormous. But my energy to do it is even greater. I am already looking forward to meeting our people from the region and the diaspora, as well as new challenges.

I thank the Government of Serbia, Minister Selaković and President Vučić for their confidence, as well as for the opportunity to work for Serbia from the highest state leaders. Thank you all for the tremendous support you have given me since I moved to Serbia in 2012.
