As Tanjug has learned, on Tuesday, October 6, a contract was to be signed in the Government of Serbia with the Chinese company CRBC.
The value of the contract is 606 million euros.
In mid-September, the Serbian government approved a contract for the construction of the Fruška Gora corridor, within which a 3.5 km tunnel will be built through Fruška gora, which will be the longest tunnel in Serbia.
In addition, another 1.8 kilometer bridge will be built over the Danube.
A few days ago, the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić stated that currently up to four roads are being built in Serbia, and that the project for the fifth, that is, the Fruška Gora corridor, for which a contract has not yet been signed , will start in a few days.
That will be very important for the city of Novi Sad, as well as for all of Backa and Srem, Vucic said.
The Preljina-Požega highway in corridor 11, the Moravian corridor, i.e. the Preljina-Pojat highway, the Kuzmin-Sremska Rača highway to Sarajevo, the Ruma-Šabac highway and the Sabac-Loznica highway, as well as the highway at the end, are currently being built in Serbia. bypass Belgrade from Ostružnica to Bubanj Potok.
The Frushkogorski corridor will officially be a fast highway from Ruma to Novi Sad in a length of 47.7 kilometers, connecting the highways with Shido and Subotica.
It will have four lanes of 3.5 meters wide, but it will not have stop lanes, so it will not be run as a classic road but as a fast track.
The construction of the Frushkogorski corridor is important, because it connects with the direction of Ruma – Sabac-Loznica.
The Fruška Gora corridor will connect three municipalities: Novi Sad, Irig and Ruma, and will also solve the problem of the passage of trucks through Fruška Gora and Irig.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Zorana Mihajlovic, previously told Tanjug that the government approved a commercial contract for the construction of the Fruska Gora corridor with the Chinese company CRBC on September 15, since a loan to finance the project had previously been approved. Exim Bank of China.
“We will complete the technical documentation for the project by the end of the year and I believe that we will finally be able to start the works on the Frushkogorski corridor by the end of next year,” the minister said.
