In Serbia, the epidemic situation is somewhat better, but it remains an emergency, epidemiologists say, despite the fact that the number of hospital admissions is decreasing and the number of discharges is increasing.

Epidemiologist and crisis staff member Predrag Kon warns of the danger of reuniting. He states for RTS that there will probably be a slight increase in the number of infected people after the New Year, but that before there will be an apparent decrease during the New Year holidays, similar to what happens on Saturdays and Sundays.

“If you have around 100 people, one is contagious. The smaller the number of people, the less likely it is to be contagious. It is a risk that cannot be avoided and transmission is safe under those conditions. It can be transmitted from five to six people, and in some special circumstances in a closed space with massive music, it can go up to ten, “says Kon.

Professor Dr. Lazar Davidović, director of the Clinic for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Serbian Clinical Center, affirms for RTS that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, interventions in cardiovascular patients cannot wait and emphasized that operations on patients infected with coronavirus under spacesuits an additional aggravating circumstance, but that there is no choice.
