Another 1,384 newly infected, 6 dead

In the last 24 hours, 9,457 citizens were tested for the corona virus in Serbia, of whom 1,384 tested positive.

Unfortunately, six people died.

There are 44 patients on ventilators in hospitals across Serbia.

So far, a total of 1,318,096 citizens have been tested for the corona virus in Serbia, and the total number of registered cases is 43,592.

A total of 809 patients have died so far, making the death rate 1.86 percent.

Infected by cities: Belgrade 728, Kragujevac 84, Novi Sad 67, Kraljevo 32, Valjevo 30, Sabac 30.

At the General Hospital “Studenica” in Kraljevo, 10 covid patients are currently hospitalized, the health institution announced. As stated, there are no changes from yesterday, which means that no new patients have been admitted to the hospital. Furthermore, no patient was discharged from the hospital.

Epidemiologist Predrag Kon said today that the introduction of a state of emergency is not an option to prevent the spread of the corona virus, adding that it is necessary to respect the measures, noting that the most prudent thing is to wear protective masks. Kon notes that he is in favor of wearing masks out in the open, adding that Crisis Staff insists on implementing measures that would be sufficient to keep the situation under control to some degree. He stated that the current situation is a consequence of the fact that the virus in Serbia has not been completely suppressed, but has been latent.

The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Đerlek, points out that the situation in Serbia is serious, but there is no room for panic, the health system is still stable and ready to respond to challenges. He says “we have to hold out until December 1, when the largest kovid hospital in Batajnica opens with 1,000 beds.”
