Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that “she would try to get the vaccines in Serbia during December”, but that, as she said, it also depends on how quickly they are registered in the country of origin.

“It will depend on how quickly they register in the country of origin, be it the United States, Russia or China or whoever, and we are in communication with the Kovaks mechanism at all times, to get the vaccine through that mechanism when it is available” Brnabic told reporters in Nis.

He stressed that Serbia could implement the procedure quickly.

“Yes, we could do it quickly, but I have to say that for some vaccines these preparations require more preparation, for others less. For example, Pfizer’s vaccine is stored under special conditions, at minus 80, so special refrigerators are needed , we are now in the process of acquiring these refrigerators, while, say, you have a Chinese vaccine, for which there is no need for special storage conditions, it is stored at a temperature of two to eight degrees and logistically it can be done like any what other vaccine, like seasonal flu ”, he emphasized.

He adds that Serbia is ready “for both.”

In hospitals, 5,900 people with kovid

Brnabić stated that around 5,900 kovid-19 patients were hospitalized in kovid hospitals in Serbia, which is the highest number since the outbreak of the epidemic.

“Most importantly, we still have enough space to serve all those who need hospitalization. Some of them are now actually being sent from Belgrade to hospitals in other cities and municipalities,” Brnabic said after opening a multi-purpose laboratory lamella. at the Faculty of Electronics.

Brnabic said the problem is not providing enough beds, but enough health workers.

“Soon, at the beginning of December, we will open a new kovid hospital in Belgrade, but it is important to know that we do not have enough health workers for all this. You can open all the hospitals and put all the sports halls in the kovid mechanism, but there are no people get it treated, “Brnabic said.

He appealed to citizens to adhere to all measures and not try to play “cat and mouse”.

Those measures, he added, are both an obligation and a recommendation, but it is important that each of us be individually responsible.

“Everyone has to try to move as little as possible, keep all contacts to a minimum until this wave passes, until the vaccine arrives, which I really hope we will have in December and until the situation begins to calm down.” Brnabic said.
