Photographs of an Albanian who savagely broke and then threw a cross from the church of St. Elias in Podujevo during the March 2004 pogrom are pasted on the walls and doors of the Cultural Decontamination Center, where the festival “Mirdita, Good Day begins today. “.
Should the “Mirdita, Good Day” festival be banned?
Beneath the photos of the vandal demolition of the church, the infamous Yellow House and the monk sitting next to the monastery ruins, only a short “Good morning” message was written.
The goal of this festival, according to the organizers, is better cooperation between Pristina and Belgrade.
“Mirdita, good afternoon!” It is supposedly aimed at introducing the Kosovo cultural and social scene to the Belgrade audience, and will take place from October 22-24 in Belgrade.
As announced by the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, the festival is this year smaller than usual due to the coronavirus, but they considered it very important to carry it out despite the epidemiological situation.
During the three days of the Festival, there will be a debate on the negotiation process between Belgrade and Pristina, on Kosovo’s membership in UNESCO, as well as on cooperation between the youth of Serbian and Albanian society.
