On US television Spectrum News, “among the striking reports, news about people from the United States who found salvation from the coronavirus were shown in our country, which they say is” our people are so mentally strong that almost not even kovid 19 can! do nothing to them “!
Serbia is emerging as an unusual and somewhat unexpected oasis for young New Yorkers eager to travel, which is why more and more are coming to our country to escape the coronavirus pandemic that is hitting the United States, but also to rest their souls in our country. One of them is the young Davis Richardson (27), who a few months ago decided to escape the kovid-19 epidemic in New York and reach the Serbian capital. He says Belgrade reminds him of the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg ten years ago, as well as that he likes the active and full life that the Serbian capital has.
– I spend twice less here than in New York, and I live in an apartment with a view of the entire city! The calculation is clear: here everything is half cheaper and there are no restrictions, I meet great people with whom I visit great restaurants and talk about issues that are not just political – says Richardson, according to the New York Post.
During the day, Davis goes out to cafes with acquaintances, and at night he goes to discos and bars, and everything, as he puts it, is within reach, within walking distance of the Belgrade apartment where he lives.
– This city has the magical power to heal you: from Kalemegdan and the underground lagoons, through a tradition that dates back centuries, to interlocutors capable of having thematically nuanced and meaningful conversations – says Davis, noting that the new restrictive measures introduced by the Government on Tuesday Serbia will not be affected by the impression the Serbian capital has already left on it.
– If the situation in America continues to go in the same direction, with “blockade”, physical and social distance, more and more people will come to Belgrade. Serbs have established themselves as mentally strong and proud people, the virus will not prevent them from living life in happiness too much, thinks this young New Yorker.
Atusa Farahani, 36, a Williamsburg resident who works as an information technology expert, told the Post that he was mostly silent about his visit to Serbia in October.
– I am fully aware of what it is like for people to travel during a pandemic. People are happy that I still travel and work, or say, “You’re taking a risk!” I had no pressure in Serbia for kovida 19, it’s like going back to what it was before the pandemic – said Farahani, adding that others who visited Belgrade during the epidemic hid it for fear of condemnation
