A total of 5,636 employers applied for the “My First Salary” program, advertising 8,400 positions for 13,500 places for young people without prior work experience, said Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Cadez and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali, calling to interested employers applications for this program.

Chadez and Mali visited Visaris, a manufacturer of high-tech digital X-ray machines, which joined the “My First Salary” program and announced 11 positions for young candidates in mechanical and electrical engineering, the best of which will get a job in the development department in artificial intelligence development projects. and 3D imaging in cooperation with universities around the world and Serbia.

The deadline for employer applications is September 25 and interested candidates application is October 1-15.

The payment amount is 20,000 dinars for high school students and 24,000 dinars per month for college students.

Payment will begin when the contract is signed, which is expected in early December.

How to apply?

Registration is done through the My first salary portal. Interested commercial entities submit the Application for Participation in the program electronically in the period from August 17 to September 25, 2020.

To apply, you must have an account open with the eGovernment and use a qualified electronic certificate. After the application, the employees that you authorize can carry out advertising positions with an account opened in the electronic administration.

Job candidate application

Candidates will be able to present their candidacy, also electronically through the same portal, from October 1 to 15. They must present a CV and a scanned diploma of the degree acquired.

The conditions are that they are up to 30 years old, that they are registered with the National Employment Service and that they have no previous work experience.

Is there a limited number of young people that the company can hire?

Yes, the number of unemployed that an employer can hire depends on the number of people already employed by a certain employer. Therefore, an employer with up to 5 employees has the right to include an unemployed person in the program, an employer with 6 to 14 employees can include a maximum of 2 unemployed, while an employer with 15 or more employees has the right to include unemployed whose number cannot be more than 20 percent of the total number of employees.

The National Service reserves the right to limit the number of employers per sector and the number of advertised positions per employer that can be included in the program to ensure the equitable participation of a greater number of employers from several different sectors.

What will the selection process be like?

After applying for people for positions advertised by employers according to their interests and possibilities, the employer will have an idea of ​​all the people who have applied for a specific position. The selection process itself depends on the business policy of each individual employer.

Who is a candidate?

The selection of registered candidates is made exclusively by the employer, and the National Employment Service previously verifies compliance with the general conditions of unemployed people who have applied to participate in the program.

Is it mandatory to enter into employment contracts once the program has ended?

The employer is not obliged to establish a working relationship with the candidate after completion of the program. The objective of the program is for the unemployed without work experience to acquire job skills and thus ensure their future employment with the employer where they were trained or with another employer.

Who bears the contribution costs for the interns?

The National Employment Service will bear the contribution costs in the event of an occupational accident and illness, in accordance with the law.
