BELGRADE – The Ministry of Justice today welcomed the swift reaction of the Belgrade Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, which ordered the suspension of all police talks with the principals of elementary schools on the criminal charges brought against them and which initiated the urgent supervision procedure of the Third Basic Prosecutor’s Office. acted.
“Taking into account the public’s anxiety, the Ministry of Justice appreciates the swift reaction of the Belgrade Appellate Prosecutor’s Office regarding this case,” the Justice Ministry said in a statement.
It is also recalled that the Appellate Prosecutor’s Office ordered the termination of all subsequent procedures in that case and asked citizens to respect the prescribed measures to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 virus.
The President of the Union of Police Employees, Dejan Đukić, brought criminal charges against the principals of primary schools, because they asked the employees and students to wear masks, before the Superior Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, which declared itself incompetent to act and forwarded the reports to the primary prosecutors.
On that occasion, the Third Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade asked the police to question the school principals as citizens and collect the necessary information, which is why the invited principals were outraged, but also a large part of the public.
