The representative space of the museum was adapted on the basis of the interior of the artist’s studio in Vienna, where he created from 1895 to 1938. The paintings are presented in four parts: landscape, portrait, historical composition and nude.

In his work, photographer Sever Zolak presented a modern version of Paja Jovanović’s painting of his wife Hermina Jovanović Dauber.
Sever’s photo shows Sladjana, a young Roma who represents the personification of a modern woman.
The photographer chose Sladjana for this portrait to remind the public of the fact that Roma women are rarely an inspiration to artists and that even when present in various spheres of art they are most often demystified through the roles of exotic or just unusual women.
“In the photo, she is the way she is. The goal was not to be a complete replica of Paja Jovanović’s painting. Her work presents a high aristocracy. Sladjana in the photo represents her origin and her generation. If you look a little closer, her eyes are a little watery. I posed for the first time. As Sladjana’s dress explained to us, like herself, it is in harmony with modern society and with what modern pop culture represents. Sladjana chose the dress, hairstyle and makeup herself.
“Sladjana is one of the three sisters and they are all academic citizens, successful and wonderful people. Photography is a fantastic embodiment of who she is. After all, the national team is not such a racist society,” added Zolak.
Sever says he liked the praise from the two ladies who were at the show the most.
“They told me that if the award is awarded tonight, it should be given to you,” Sever Zolak concludes.
