According to the latest data, four more workers from the South Korean company “Jura” in Leskovac became ill with the coronavirus, making the total number 68, and the mayor and commander of emergency headquarters Goran Cvetanovic announced that all employees will be evaluated and the plant will not function. until the test results arrive.

Currently, 34 workers from this company are being treated at the Leskovac General Hospital, and have a clearer clinical picture, reports Južne vesti. Cvetanović said more attention will be paid to transportation and conditions at the factory itself.

It also announces testing of the 2,800 workers, and the management of this factory, according to Cvetanović, will reduce the number of people at the plant by 50 percent.

“Yesterday, the general manager of this company informed me by email that Jura will continue to work three shifts, but with 50 percent of the workers, which is approximately 1,000 workers at the plant. The email says that at least 70 percent of workers must work to be able to fill orders for the Czech and Slovak markets, “says Cvetanovic.

If the trend of increasing the number of new patients continues, more stringent measures may be introduced at this factory, says Cvetanović.

All workers will be evaluated, 1,500 samples will be sent to Belgrade, the rest to Nis. All the available and trained capacities of the Institute of Public Health, hospitals and the Health Center will be contracted and the tests will be sent to the laboratories.

“Swabs will be taken and Jura will not work on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays,” said Cvetanović.

According to the latest data, in addition to the “Jure” workers, there are 10 other people positively affected in Leskovac. A total of 513 people have fallen ill with the crown since the beginning of the epidemic in the Jablanica district: 353 in Leskovac, 110 in Vlasotince, 24 in Bojnik, 22 in Lebane and four in Medvedja. The first cases of coronavirus in the Leskovac “Jura” were recorded in early April.
