People’s Party Vice Chairman Miroslav Aleksić announced criminal charges against the police after he was subjected, as he put it, to “police harassment directed by the authorities” in front of his five-year-old son in Trstenik today.
Aleksić reportedly said that after stopping the car in which he was with his son, “the police lasted an hour” and that he was charged with three misdemeanors.
He added that police officer Nebojsa Simic refused to give him two minutes.
“Simic was constantly on the phone with someone who was obviously ordering him to stop me for no reason, regardless of the fact that my son was visibly upset that a five-year-old boy thought about arresting his father.” Aleksic said.
According to him, immediately after stopping, he told Simic that he would pay a fine for not wearing a seat belt.
“It wasn’t enough for him, but I took an alcohol test that showed that I had no alcohol in my blood. The policeman, obviously disappointed by the negative result of the alcohol test, told me that some additional checks were needed, although he knew me well because I was the president of the municipality of Trstenik. While waiting for the results, based on further verification, he called again for instructions, “Aleksić said.
Aleksic said that after 45 minutes in detention, he got out of his car and added that the policeman “used it to write a complaint for the unauthorized abandonment of the vehicle.”
“I went out to ask him to speed up the process because my son was upset, but the police did not pay attention to my request, although there was no reason for further detention. I had to wait a total of an hour until it was all over, “Aleksić said.
Aleksic added that just half an hour later headlines about the event appeared in tabloids controlled by the authorities.
“It confirms that it is a synchronized action of the regime.” As the tabloids know, it was controlled by the police in Trstenik, unless someone from the police informed them by order of the authorities, “Aleksić said.
