Becic noted that Amfilohije was the original wrestler from Montenegro.
– Amfilohije is one of the people we must say goodbye to, but we will never part. I hope it is the last that has had to defend the church from the deeds of its people – said Becic.

He pointed out that many were able to hear his words: that God does not see who is who, but that they are all earthly nations, and that is why telegrams of condolence are arriving from all over the world.
As he added, he believes that today he stands in front of the church on behalf of all citizens, to thank and say goodbye to Amfilohije.
He says he hopes Amfilohije will be the last bishop who had to defend the church from the works of his people, and he defended it by forgiving everyone beforehand.
He said Amfilohije was sharp and expressive, and gentle in his actions.
Metropolitan Amfilohije fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, November 30 at KBC Podgorica.
