The state of health of His Holiness Patriarch Irinej is good because after therapy, all symptoms of heart problems have been eliminated, Bishop Stefan Saric, vicar bishop of the patriarch and elder of the Temple of Saint Sava told “Blic” .
He adds that the patriarch was in a good mood today and was interested in regular church activities.
– Today I had the opportunity to speak with our patriarch and personally make sure that his health is good. According to the doctor, he responded well to therapy, so any cardiac symptoms that appeared were eliminated. Today our patriarch also had a joyful spirit and was interested in the regular duties of the church, but also in the works in the Temple of Saint Sava. In addition, he gave me the blessing to serve the liturgy tomorrow at St. George’s Church. To our joy, the problems that existed were overcome and their treatment continues under the watchful eye of the best doctors – says Mgr. Stefan.
He adds that the faithful and the public will be informed in a timely manner about possible changes in the Patriarch’s state of health.
– So now there is no reason to worry and about all possible changes, which I hope are for the better, the Serbian Orthodox Church will inform the believers and the public. Once again, the church and the faithful thank the team of the best doctors who take care of our patriarch, and we hope he wins this battle, as well as many before – says Bishop Stefan for “Blic”.
Patriarch Irinej was hospitalized on November 4 at the Karaburma Military Hospital due to a covid-19 infection, as his condition worsened this morning.
