The director of the KCS Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr. Goran Stevanović, stated that, considering that the influx of patients to hospitals is large, additional capacities will be contracted in kovid hospitals: KBC Dr. Dragiša Mišović, Zemun and VMC Karaburma .
In addition, the capacities at the kovid hospital in Kruševac will be at maximum, because Batajnica is already sufficiently overloaded and the projected capacities are coming to an end, Stevanović said after the meeting of the Minister of Health with the directors of the kovid hospitals.
As he said, it can be expected that today and tomorrow patients from Belgrade and elsewhere will be sent for treatment to Krusevac.
– Depending on the situation in the coming days, we will make more decisions, what to do and how to adjust the system – said Stevanović.
He added that the objective of all the maneuvers is to preserve current capacities as much as possible, that is, not to introduce new hospitals into the covid system, so that necovid patients have someone to help.
– We will work to the maximum, as we have done so far, but we should try to be even more responsible together – Stevanović said, repeating that full immunity occurs two weeks after the second dose of the vaccine.
Answering questions, Stevanovic said that in December, the maximum number of hospitalized was more than 11,000, which the health system showed it could handle, and that it would be possible to receive a few thousand more than that, but cautioned that that meant that – all that they are not covidito patients, they are left without attention.
Stevanović also pointed out that a part of the population does not accept that the kovid is there, does not adhere to measures, distances, masks, vaccines and tries to lead a completely normal life, as if nothing happens until they get sick.
– The only two measures proposed by crisis personnel that are important are vaccination and termination of all contacts, if not essential. We can do it alone, if there is good will, we do not need measures for that, said Stevanović.
