Several hundred civil activists broke down the fences on the Fruška gora hiking trail, on the plot where the owner of the Galens construction company, Sanja Petrić, is carrying out the works.

As can be seen from the social media recordings, several hundred citizens gathered near the Rakovac monastery, from where they took a concrete road to the “Kesten” viewpoint to remove the fences from the Rakovac-Zmajevac hiking trail.

Participants in the protest march then stopped in front of the metal gate located on the road, cut the chains and opened it. Shortly after the first, they demolished the second gate, which was on a yellow path.

“We want to send a message to the competent institutions about the attacks on the Serbian nature, on the forests, on the rivers, on the air, on everything that is a public good. It is time for them to start working in a way that protect public goods and citizens, not investors’ interests, “said activist Dragana Arsić of the Movement” Let’s defend the forests of Fruška Gora “.

The reason for today’s meeting is the inspection report on the blocking of two uncategorized public roads in Fruška gora, on the route of the yellow hiking trail, which is in the hiking trail register of the Mountaineering Association of Vojvodina.

The road was blocked with two metal gates in the fenced part of Fruška gora, which was bought by Sanja Petrić.

As the Vojvodina Research and Analysis Center (VOICE) recently wrote, Sanja Petrić from Novi Sad, wife of businessman Nebojša Petrić, bought 205 parcels in her name in Fruška gora and its slopes.
