He should be taken to the Novi Sad High Prosecutor’s Office for questioning tomorrow, and then to the judge for preliminary proceedings to decide on the arrest. Serbia demanded the extradition of Kontić on suspicion that he tried to kill Miljan Mandić by beating him on 24 August. Kontic was arrested on October 11 in Podgorica after a month in hiding, after which the Serbian Ministry of Justice sent an extradition request.

He agreed to the extradition.

The Novi Sad prosecution charges him with the crime of attempted murder.

Together with him, OL and L. V are suspects in this case, who are suspected of the crime of participating in a fight, that is, assisting the perpetrator once the crime has been committed.

They were detained for a month and, in mid-October, they were released to defend themselves.

The Novi Sad police previously announced that Kontić was suspected of inflicting several blows on the 28-year-old man to the head and body, as a result of which he lost consciousness and subsequently broke “both forearms”.

The case attracted much public attention after a video was posted on social media on September 11, showing the young man being beaten.

Kontic is originally from Niksic, graduated from law school in Serbia and worked as an apprentice at a law firm prior to the incident in which he struck Mandic, 28, on Jevrejska Street in Novi Sad on August 24.
