EP from Prijepolje (35) died last night in a serious traffic accident on the Prijepolje – Brodarevo highway when the “Mercedes” he was driving landed in the Lim river canyon.
Fortunately, three of his companions, who died with minor bodily injuries, stopped on the same bank of the river after landing in a 50-meter deep abyss.
The accident, which by sheer luck did not claim more lives, occurred around 10 at night in Petrovac, on the section of the road next to the Lima canyon. The vehicle, which was transporting two young men from Prijepolje and two girls from Priboj, and which was traveling from Brodarevo, for unknown reasons, landed on the road, collided with a retaining wall and slid off a cliff into the riverbed, stopping in a couple of meters from Lima.
The EP was the only one to fall from the vehicle, which is believed to have struck it during landing and cost him his life.
A truck driver who crossed the street noticed a license plate on the road and stones that, as it turned out, were blown off the road by the impact of the “Mercedes” against the retaining wall. Suspecting that something had happened on the road, he called the Prijepolje police, who soon arrived at the scene and noticed the car in the abyss.
Immediately afterwards, an ambulance and a fire department arrived and removed the lifeless body from the EP. and three of his companions. They were taken to Prijepolje hospital, where it was discovered that they had minor bodily injuries.
