Igor Đantar from Bačka Topola, a zero patient whose coronavirus was confirmed on March 6, 2020, says a year later he feels fine and now has no problems.
However, remember that after leaving the hospital, he was very weak and tired, while it took several months for lung regeneration to complete, due to severe inflammation, writes nova.rs.
“The fact that I am a zero patient in Serbia changed my life in that sense, as well as that of other people in our country; we all realized during the pandemic that health is the greatest treasure in life and that disease it can change everything in the blink of an eye. ” of an eye, “says Đantar for Tanjug.
No one needs that much popularity, he notes.
He remembers that the first weeks the attention of the media was directed to him, but that he was in very bad condition at that time, and that with the publication of his personal data, the media ignored him or his person. that of his family. Rights.
However, as the only good thing about all this, he sees that he was able to share the experience with others, when the number of patients began to increase dramatically.
“I hope I have helped them in that we must call the doctors and act responsibly, to listen to the advice of the profession,” he added.
The story goes that his encounter with the vicious virus started with a high fever and he was so weak that he couldn’t get out of bed.
“As the temperature did not drop even after three days, in the first days of March, on the advice of my good friend Dr. Marko Martinović, I did laboratory tests and went for an examination in a private office where they found that I had pneumonia and prescribed antibiotic therapy. However, as my condition did not improve, I visited the pulmonologist again in two days. The inflammation spread to the other lung and the results of the blood test were not good, “says Igor.
After the doctors suspected that it was not just pneumonia, he reported the results to the Subotica General Hospital, where they took a swab and sent it to Torlak, and from there, the next day, March 6, it was confirmed that he was infected with coronavirus.
Then he was ill and on March 7 he was transferred to Novi Sad, to KC Vojvodina.
“I was admitted there for treatment by Dr. Vesna Turkulov, director of the Infectious Diseases Clinic, and Dr. Natasa Gocic Peric, an internist cardiologist. I am very grateful to them and to the nurses for everything they did for me.” Igor points out.
He also says that medical staff are making superhuman efforts to help patients.
“Thanks to the dedication, experience and care of the KCV medical staff, with the director Dr. Edita Stokić, my condition slowly improved, I overcame the infection and after three weeks I was able to return to my family,” recalls Igor.
As he himself says, he was recently under control, he still has a sufficient amount of antibodies, but points out that, as soon as necessary, he will definitely be vaccinated.
