A unique administrative place in Sombor – you can solve several things with one visit

The city of Sombor has allowed citizens to perform administrative tasks easier and faster by forming a single administrative place, where with a visit to the newly opened counters more things can be solved, but also save time and unnecessary costs.

Why are the corridors of the magnificent Sombor Municipal Administration building empty? Where are those common images of citizens who, confused and often angry, go from one office to another in search of information or chasing that missing role?

We find citizens in the space of a single administrative place. They came here to perform various administrative tasks in one place. The city of Sombor is one of the local self-governments that, taking advantage of the results of the public administration reform, introduced a system of a single administrative place that allows citizens to perform a large number of different administrative tasks in one place. Thanks to funds from the Ministry of State Administration and Local Autonomy, Sombor has arranged and equipped a space for citizens with 12 counters with various services. There are also MUP counters where citizens can submit applications for the issuance of personal documents and branches of the Serbian Post.

“The essence of a single administrative place is that it is a point of contact. For a citizen to receive all the relevant information at a counter, submit an application and receive a decision in the same place to exercise their rights. A single administrative place reduces the time and eliminates costs because they get all the necessary information in one place in the exercise of their rights and the protection of their legal interests, ”says Helena Roksandić Musulin, head of the Sombor city administration.

At the counters, citizens can perform various jobs. Everything is much faster and easier, because the public administration reform, which is being implemented with the support of the European Union, has allowed state bodies to exchange various data and documents about citizens electronically. As a result, citizens no longer have to cross the thresholds of various services and institutions, and the work of the civil servants themselves has been greatly facilitated. How does it look in the example of one of the counters of the only administrative place in Sombor?

“My name is Tatjana Trajkovski and I work at the counter where information is provided to social assistance users and families with children. I can get full information here. Specifically, social assistance users are entitled to child allowance, they are entitled to subsidized utility prices, they may be vulnerable to energy customers where they do not pay for electricity in a part relative to the number of household members they have, and they obtain information on where they could exercise their other rights, here they take a decision on social assistance and identity card, other documentation is collected by ourselves, where official records are kept, we request information from our institutions electronically and the party will only come here and will not have to go to other places ”, says Tatjana Trajkovski , employee of the municipal administration of Sombor.

When they finish the work they came to local self-government for, the citizens of Sombor can rate their work in the e-book of impressions. The city administration says that citizens’ attitudes help them improve the quality of services.
