A student from the primary school “Vuk Karadzic”, who was in class on September 1, was confirmed to have a coronavirus infection, and is now in home isolation together with her twin sister who does not have an infection, said the principal from Bojan Konatar school to Beti.

He said both girls are feeling fine and have no symptoms of the disease.

According to Konatar, the parents sent the twin sisters to school on September 1 and reported to the class teacher in the evening that the girls had previously been in contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

“The parents also informed the head of the department at that time that they would be taking the children for testing, and on Thursday, September 3, it was confirmed that one of the twins was positive for COVID-19 and the other was not,” Konatar added.

He mentioned that the positive student was in school only on September 1.

“Parents should know that they should not send their children to school if they know that their children have been in contact with people with positive coviditis,” said the director. Konatar said the school, upon learning of this case, acted in accordance with the protocol of the Institute of Public Health.

“The classroom has been completely cleaned and disinfected, as well as the benches, tables, blackboard, teaching materials. The students of the class in which the student is positive will wear masks, that is, during their entire stay at school, and training on talks about coronavirus infection will continue. “says Konatar.

The Institute of Public Health in Kragujevac says the algorithm does not prescribe that students in the class be placed in isolation due to a case of infection.
