Four years and four months later, Kamba was found alive and well in a factory factory not far from Gelsenkirchen, where he played soccer until a “tragic” event during a vacation in Africa.

The German “Bild” announced that Kamba would have remained officially dead if his ex-wife had not relented during the investigation on suspicion that he had misled an insurance company.

The investigation that was started led to a sensational change. Schalke’s former right back was found on the floor of a company in the Ruhr area.

Kamba was employed there as a chemical technician and, as it turned out, made several improvements since his death.

Arrested for an informative conversation, he explained that he was forcibly separated from his friends during a fatal journey through the inaccessible parts of the Congo, and that he was robbed on that occasion. When he regained consciousness, he says he had no phone, no money, and no personal documents.

He may have been left with nothing, but his ex-wife received a six-figure sum based on a life insurance policy she and Janik contracted during the marriage.

“Bild” did not announce how Kambin’s ten-year-old son received the shocking news.

His parents will be prosecuted …
