The construction of the new building of the Serbian Clinical Center and the reconstruction of the existing tower are underway, and the works were visited today by the Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar, who assures that in less than a year the works will be completed and admitted the first patients.
The fact that the new KCS has 23 elevators, 30 operating rooms, four scanners, two MRIs, four angio rooms, and a state-of-the-art laboratory says a lot about the type of project at hand.
The Emergency Center, part of surgery, plastic surgery, endocrine surgery, neurology, hematology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, cardiac surgery will move to the new building.
Each room will have two beds, a bathroom.
“The corona virus epidemic did slow down, but it did not stop work. In a period, the work was done with less capacity. We hope that the crown does not create a problem and that the number of workers on the construction site does not decrease. “Loncar said after visiting the works.
The works in KCS are being carried out by the company “Delta Engineering”, and its executive director Slavoljub Korcakovski assures that the new space will have 86,000 square meters, of which 27,000 are new spaces and 59,000 are reconstructions of the existing one.
As he said, 1,200 kilometers of cables and 2,000 tons of steel will be installed in the buildings.
“Currently the works of the facilities are being carried out. The interior is being fixed. The construction and handicraft works have been completed ”, he stated.
The rebuilding of KCS and the construction of the new tower began in 2018.
