The injured ZS was admitted to the Nis Clinical Center with a larynx fracture, after being intubated and resuscitated at the Leskovac Hospital Emergency Center.

He was seriously injured when the bus’s airbag burst and raised the seat, hitting the back of the seat in front of him with his neck.

The son of the injured, Perica Selimović, told the Beta agency that he, his wife, his father and his mother were returning by bus from Vojvodina, where they had been working for a month, and that according to the plan, the bus would arrive in Leskovac to leave other workers there.

“We were all sitting in the back seat when something broke. We flew through the air, hit our heads on the roof of the bus, on the seats and on the television in front of us,” Selimović said.

He said that at first no one, not even his father, realized that he was seriously injured.

“We got off the bus and my father complained of a sore throat, he started coughing and bleeding. We quickly called an ambulance who took him away. “We later found out that my father’s condition had gotten very bad, that he had stopped breathing,” Selimović said.

According to him, the bus on which they were returning from Vojvodina was in good condition, so three or four hours after the accident, the police allowed them to continue on their way to Pirot.

The wife of the seriously injured ZS also suffered minor injuries in the accident.
