The photos appeared on Twitter, where a lively discussion on the subject immediately broke out. Some say it’s okay, some are stupid people, and some don’t understand because it’s not about the church or the fountain.
Orthodox believers are in the habit of putting money on the icon as a contribution to the church. When it comes to fountains, they imagine a wish and throw a pair into the water in the belief that their imagined wish will come true, which is a common belief in the rest of the world.
