Marijana S. (18) from Kovilj near Novi Sad, suspected of trying to kill her extramarital partner Stevan B. twice with a knife, was released to defend herself.
During the investigation thus far, “Novosti” at the Novi Sad High Prosecutor’s Office was told that the injured party, as well as witnesses, were questioned.
The unpleasant event, which was allegedly “sponsored” by mutual jealousy, took place on July 25 at around 10 pm at the house on Ilija Nešina Street, where they lived. It turned out they got into a fight, and then at one point, Mariana grabbed a knife and stabbed Stevan in the left side of the chest, which ended up in the hospital with a serious injury.
– They were both supposedly at a birthday party that night. Alcohol was consumed there and there was an argument, so they went home earlier, where they probably continued the argument, said one of Stevan’s acquaintances.
Seeing that Stevan was bleeding, Mariana, as rumored in town, put towels on the wound, tried to stop the bleeding, but was unsuccessful. According to one version, she called an ambulance and, according to another, Stevan went to her brother, who alerted the doctors.
