The novel “Contraendorfina” by the writer Svetislav Basara was presented tonight in the amphitheater of the House of Culture “Student City”

The main hero of “Contraendorphin” is a bastard in this area, not only in Serbia, in the whole region, where everyone is trying to make it bigger than it needs to be.

A mixture of disgusting psychologies that make everything senseless. Everything that is done in all parts of the world, only in a pagan and miserable way, is the main theme – said Svetislav Basara, a writer, on the occasion of the theme he dealt with in his new novel “Contraendorfina”.

The promotion of this work, which cleverly and acutely treats Serbian mythomania, took place at night in the amphitheater of the House of Culture “Student City”.

Basara says that there are no positive personalities in the novel, including his alter ego, and wonders why all evils must be brought to perfection.

The novel deals with the demystification of the great and national bards, from Andrić to Đilas, in addition to exposing the so-called historical and biographical controversies.

– The inexhaustible humor and hyperbole are the main weapons of the writer in this novel, a kind of sequel to “Andrić’s ladder of horror” – is stated in the announcement on the occasion of the publication of “Kontraendorfin”.

Velja Pavlović, literary critic and journalist, confirmed that the book is imbued with Basara’s humor, so the reader cannot help but laugh.

– Sometimes you put the book down and have that loud laugh. In this mature phase, Basara became even more talkative, even more of a man who is connected to the life he writes about, she realized.

Based on the fact that Basara writes about Andrić “as he writes”, Pavlović notes that as a journalist he came to know the Belgrade Cultural Bazaar very well and that Andrić has always been rumored to be a bad man, and recalled that the story of that Andrić had to or could help Crnjanski to return to Belgrade.

– The Belgrade Cultural Bazaar is misleading, it is gossip that everyone knows, but nothing can be learned by watching “official television” or reading “official newspapers”. What is in “Kontraendorfin” can be compared to the courage and morals of a special kind, only with the young Basar who similarly pointed out the mistakes of another saint of Serbian culture. Everything here is black and white, and Basara does not want to stop there – said Pavlović, adding that this book is unprecedented in our literary history, because no one has spoken so fiercely about things that need to be talked about.

Sasa Ciric, literary critic and journalist, noted that we have a dogma about the autonomy of a literary text, art. About art that is created thanks to art, referring to itself and not leaving its frame.

– In Svetislav Basara’s books there is a controversial feature, a politicking, and they turn out to be art that at the same time refers to other books – Ciric pointed out, explaining that Basara addresses himself as a publicist, as someone who deliberately breaks the autonomy of literature through postmodern play. text, the illusion of self-referentiality, that is, the illusion of art as such.

According to him, Basara is an illusion breaker.

The moderator of the conversation, Tamara Mitrović, said that the story about Croats and Serbs runs through the book and expressed interest in the virologist of the work, which originates from a mixed marriage.

– The doctor says that it is a type of virus, because it collected the worst characteristics of Croats and Serbs, and that viruses collected the worst characteristics of living and inanimate matter, which we had the opportunity to see for ourselves these months – explained Svetislav Basara.

Some things paralyze a person

The book also permeates the history of machines, from cars and telephones, but also about gas stations.

– That chapter arose from the painful memories of the time when gasoline was sold here in the streets in bottles of “Coca-Cola”, in which to sell less and get more money, the vendors boiled it in hot water. That is why even today, wherever I go, I look at that pointer on the meter. Some things maim a man, and he becomes a mental cripple – said Basara adding that gas stations, in addition to shopping centers, are an interesting phenomenon because those gas stations in small towns are places for night out because they work all night.

“Above all these bombs there is some sadness and eternal madness for everything, not just for fuel,” concluded Basara.
