Another dangerous trend among young people is in force on social networks. The challenge is to eat the icicles that hang from the ceilings.
Experts warn that something like this is very dangerous to health, because it can lead to poisoning from harmful substances found in that ice, including bird droppings.
Social media has also posed a new challenge among young people in Serbia: teenagers massively rip freezers out of windows and roofs and then eat them. The snow that especially attacks cities, whether yellow or not, contains a large amount of pollutants and poisons, experts warn. An experiment, conducted in 2016, showed that just an hour after the snow fell on the city, it was full of poisons dangerous to humans.
General practitioner Branka Grujić says that this trend is very dangerous and warns that if you eat a freezer, it is the same as if you drank poisoned water.
– In this way, young people seriously endanger their health. Would you ever drink cold, contaminated water? Eating icicles is like doing it. Not to mention what’s in melted ice, dirt, bird droppings … Poisoning can also occur, but you should definitely not eat or lick icicles – warns Grujić.
Meteorologists also point out that there is literally “everything and everything” in the snow and ice that falls these days.
