That is to say, with pain and suffering, the relatives of the deceased had to wait two days for the funeral to take place, because there were problems along the way.
According to “Kurir”, relatives hired the “Hammeum” utility company, which also includes the city cemetery, to bring the deceased from Belgrade. They sent a car to transport the deceased, owner of the company, but it broke down even before reaching Belgrade.
Then the next day, they sent a truck and picked up the deceased. That vehicle also broke down near Jagodina. Since the deceased was in it, they had to hire a shelving service to bring them all together to Prokuplje.
For all that, the funeral had to be postponed again, but only for a few hours.
Zoran Dimitrijevic, head of the Department of Funeral and Market Services at JKP “Hammeum”, confirmed that all this happened. He says there was bad luck, that is, an engine malfunction.
“In the 20 years that we have been providing this service, this is the first time something like this has happened. We apologize to the family, who understood the problem that arose,” said Dimitrijevic.
