The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Mirsad Đerlek, said that the epidemic broke black records and this is not the largest number we have reached, because it will increase in five to seven days.

He says that there are almost no places in Belgrade hospitals, because when patients are discharged, others arrive. According to him, Belgrade is the most critical, but the epidemic has spread to the north of the country and there is hardly any city that has not been affected.

“We are making efforts to provide places for patients, so that citizens are convinced that we will provide a place for each patient, no matter how difficult it is, we will be able to respond to the task that is expected of us,” Djerlek told RTS.

Regarding the implementation of the measures, he says that results are expected in 14 days.

“We cannot guarantee that, but until then, we must act in such a way as to demonstrate the obligation, the personal responsibility that each individual adheres to the measure, because that is the only weapon,” Djerlek denied.

Today is a record day according to all the data, the highest number is positive, 700 people were hospitalized, it is a day with the most dangerous characteristics, which shows that it is a deadly disease against which we must take all possible measures, said the director of ‘Batuta’ Verica Jovanovic.

“We can do it together, applying measures. It is necessary to stop transmission in the community, we are in a better situation than Montenegro, Hungary, but with indicators that the number is growing,” Dr Jovanovic told RTS.

Today’s figures indicate that the health system is doing its best to stop the disease, he says.

“The key is the mask, as well as the distance,” added Dr. Jovanović.

Let us remind you, in the last 24 hours in Serbia, 18,040 people were tested for the corona virus, 5,613 of them tested positive, while sadly 27 people died.

This is an absolute record for the number of people infected since the beginning of the epidemic, and today November 18 will be remembered for the highest number of deaths from the corona virus in Serbia (we had 24 deaths yesterday).

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and the “Trampoline” Institute, there are 182 patients on respirators in health institutions throughout Serbia, while a record 5,317 people have been hospitalized.
