This measure is limited to two weeks, that is, until December 1, and if the epidemiological situation does not calm down by then, new, even more drastic measures are threatened. The key measure adopted in the government session on Sunday refers to the reduction of working hours in cafes, restaurants, discos, shops, cinemas, theaters and others. The bar’s working hours have been shortened for the third time and they can now work until 9pm instead of 11pm like yesterday.
As stated by the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, the reduction in working hours is limited to two weeks, therefore after that period the results achieved with this provision will be evaluated. If the number of infected begins to decrease, measures will be lifted and, if the number of infected continues to increase, measures may be tightened.
The Prime Minister of Serbia emphasized once again in the morning that if the measures are not respected, Serbia will be potentially threatened by more severe measures. Therefore, it is possible to wear masks in the open air, as well as to further shorten the working hours of catering facilities and, as a last resort, a curfew is possible!
As for the first two, some members of the crisis staff have been advocating for that for a long time: Dr. Predrag Kon has repeatedly said that masks should be mandatory outdoors, such as walks, and gave the example of the Knez Mihailova street in Belgrade, and as for the possible new working hours of the catering facilities, it could be reduced to 18 hours.
Night transport in Belgrade is abolished
The Ministry of Public Transport today made a decision on the temporary suspension of the lines in the night transport of passengers from tomorrow night, that is, from the night between November 18 and 19. The decision was made in accordance with the order of the Municipal Headquarters for Emergency Situations in the territory of the City of Belgrade, which prohibited all catering facilities, shops, shopping centers and other retail facilities, theaters and cinemas, game organizers of chance specials and classics and other facilities from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., it is indicated in the announcement of this secretariat. After the abolition of the adopted measures, the transport in night lines will be reestablished and the Public Transport Secretariat will inform the citizens in a timely manner.
Let us remind you that, in addition to these measures that come into force tonight, in Serbia it is mandatory to wear masks indoors, but also outdoors if it is not possible to maintain a distance of more than 1.5 meters (queues in front of post offices, banks, etc.), as well as a ban. meetings of more than five people.
Finally, the amendments to the Law for the Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases have arrived to help respect all the measures, both new and old. This will raise both control and punishment to a higher known level.
