THE CYCLIST COULD SEE THE SINGER’S MURDER: Video surveillance images near the embankment in Borča reviewed in the trial of Zoran Marjanović

The video was shown on Friday as important evidence in Chamber 1 of the Belgrade High Court, where the trial of Zoran Marjanovic, accused of killing his wife, continued on Friday. A camera in Jahović’s home also recorded his movements.

– Around 17.17 hours, two people appear in the video, one higher and the other significantly lower – explained the chairman of the judging panel, Judge Jelena Škulić. – You can see that a superior person moves away from an inferior person at one point and then slows down again.

It was heard in the courtroom on Friday that the recording likely included Zoran and her daughter and Jelena, then five-year-old Jana, who went to the embankment with them. It is presumed that at that time they were walking down the embankment and, as the defense claims, they were calling and looking for Jelena.

VIDEO OF THE BUS OF LINE 104

The video of the 104 bus, which first parks on the Crvenka toll road and then departs towards Borča, shows a good part of the embankment in the period from 16.55 to 17.05. Regardless of that, on the embankment, at the time of the crime, which according to the accusation occurred around 5 in the afternoon, as if nothing happened, at least it is not seen in the recordings shown.

– The time was determined on the basis of police notes – said the expert Dragomir Vasiljevic, who carried out the spatio-temporal expertise at the request of the prosecution. – The time in the camera is different from the real time by approximately 57 minutes, plus or minus 60 seconds. That is what is written in the note from the Ministry of the Interior. Based on that, we get to the real time when the rider shows up, which is around 4:58 pm, plus or minus a minute.

Defense attorneys reacted to this, claiming that anything could have gone through that “plus-minus” and that the experience was not accurate.

Another video of the cyclist was shown in the courtroom on Friday, where he was moving along the asphalt road from Borča to the Crvenka settlement, parallel to the embankment. It was seen by a camera on bus 104, which travels there. Interestingly, this witness, who was questioned earlier, was not of much use, as he was concentrating on riding a bicycle.

The video from this camera, which lasts more than five minutes, served the defense lawyers to challenge the conclusions of the expert witness Vasiljevic on the possibility that Marjanovic intentionally turned off his mobile phone or, as he further explained, that the device was in “airplane mode “.

– The video clearly shows that there is vegetation, as well as trees, which can affect the interference of the mobile phone signal – warned lawyer Aleksandar Zaric. – The experience took place in November 2017 and the experience was supplemented even later. After a year and a half, many things have changed in the field, which can affect the outcome of the experience.

By the way, the “Telekom” explanation, which was read on Friday, states that they cannot determine whether or not Zoran Marjanović’s phone was switched off at the critical moment, that is, that possibility does not exist in the system!

EXPERT AND EXPERT ADVISOR

On Friday the main spears were broken between the expert hired by the prosecution and the telecommunications expert Sasa Savic, regarding the status of Zoran Marjanovic’s mobile phone at the time of 16 hours, 38 minutes and 35 seconds, until 5:00 p.m. four minutes and 28 seconds. Savic, when hired by the defense, stated decisively that the phone could not be said to be off or in “airplane mode” (so the base stations didn’t “see” it), because the moment Marjanovic turned it on , “a record that speaks of the user’s location”, that is, a “location update”, which did not happen in this case.

– Marjanović’s phone was in operational mode all the time and the ID mode proves it – said this telecommunications expert. – This is the idle state of the phone in which the user can move.
