Pljevljak Darko Šarić (50), who was sentenced to 15 years in prison for organizing cocaine smuggling in 2008 and 2009, after almost seven years, could soon change direction and continue to serve his sentence outside of Belgrade.
It should be recalled that Šarić surrendered in March 2014 and has since been detained in the Special Court building on Ustanička Street in Belgrade.
Pravila
Love room and phone
A convict serving a prison sentence is entitled to visits twice a month, lasting one hour.
– Once every two months, the convict is entitled to a love room and twice a month to packages. In addition, unlike detention, you have the right to telephone calls from the public telephone, at your expense, says our interlocutor.
Read books
– Since he surrendered on March 18, 2014, Darko Šarić has lived alone in a detention cell. He had no roommates, went for a walk alone, and spent most of his time preparing for tests or reading books. His family visited him regularly and during his stay behind bars he became a father. Since the final court verdict was passed, after six years and eight months, he should soon change his address, but also get roommates for the first time, says Kurir’s source.
Explain that in which prison someone will serve their sentence, it is determined on the basis of registered residence.
– Saric has a registered residence in Belgrade and the sentence that includes detention time could be served in Zabela, Pozarevac, but also in the newly opened prison near Pancevo. Transportation to the institution will be done in the greatest secrecy, for security reasons – reveals the interlocutor.
Zabela
Legija and Zvezdan on Alcatraz
The most famous residents of Zabela Prison in Požarevac are Milorad Ulemek Legija and Zvezdan Jovanović. -They are in a special part, called Alcatraz, and it is certain that there will be no neighbors in that prison within the Saric prison – Kurir’s interlocutor says.
According to him, in addition to the place of residence, the degree of risk is also taken into account when deciding.
– In that sense, it happened that the assessment was that a convict must serve his sentence in the Central Prison of Belgrade. That option also exists, especially considering that Saric also has a procedure for money laundering, in which he was sentenced to nine years in prison for the first instance verdict, but that case has not yet been finalized – explains the interlocutor of Kurir.
Saric: Injustice
Saric received the news that the verdict for the smuggling of cocaine from Latin America to Western Europe has become final behind bars. His lawyers did not respond to calls yesterday, and after the first verdict of the Special Court, Pljevljak told Kurir: “As the judge conducted the procedure, he unfairly ended it! I do not mean only me, but also others who they were convicted. “
