pink.rs | THE CROWN BURNS IN THE CAPITAL

Belgrade has been known for weeks to be the largest crown hotbed in Serbia, practically since the beginning of the third wave, but Dr. Predrag Kon’s claims that the capital has nearly 10,000 new kovida-19 cases daily seem quite shocking.

Kon said that “the current epidemiological situation in the capital is such that the number of infected people is 10 times higher than the figures say, and that Belgrade will be the place from where the virus will spread to other countries.”

– We are in the week when the virus is very active in Belgrade, it will be the same next week, regardless of the numbers. We still have a trend for further deterioration. We have twice as many enrolled in schools as in previous weeks, and we are seeing a decline there. Belgrade is currently the place from where the virus will spread to other countries, and that will last – explained Dr. Kon.

With 1,106 new cases in 24 hours, or 8,430 infected in the last 14 days or 495.9 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the ranking of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Belgrade is practically at the entrance to the penultimate eighth grade, the so-called dark gray area in which there are those who have between 500 and 1,000 patients per 100,000 inhabitants. Like Croatia, France, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Montenegro …

As Prime Minister Ana Brnabić revealed, currently in Belgrade primary schools, the coronavirus has been confirmed in 32 students and 14 employees.

“Regardless of that, schools are currently the safest places and there are no plans to close them,” said the Prime Minister.

However, a few days ago, the mayor of the capital, Dr. Zoran Radojicic, said that “it will probably be necessary to tighten measures against the spread of the coronavirus.”
