The KFOR mission today welcomed the 27th contingent of soldiers from North Macedonia, who arrived from the “Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu” barracks in Tetovo.

They will serve in KFOR’s Peja West Regional Command and, according to a KFOR statement, will contribute to the overall mission of providing a safe and movement-free environment for all communities in Kosovo in accordance with Resolution 1244 of 1999 of the United Nations Security Council.

As stated, his duties will include patrolling, securing the Visoki Decani monastery and securing the Villaggio Italia camp with colleagues from Italy and Moldova.

The rest of the contingent will serve as staff officers at the KFOR General Staff in Pristina.

The North Macedonian flag was raised at the ceremony, which was attended by the commander of the forces in Kosovo, Major General Mikele Risi.
