A 50-year-old EPS worker suffered serious burns this morning around 9.40am in Batajnica in an explosion that occurred at a transformer station, Belgrade media reported.

However, according to EPS’s announcement, there was no explosion, but the accident occurred when placing the ground conductor on the transformer bus bars.

– Around 9.40 am, in the substation within the Electronics Industry in Batajnica, during the preparations for the overhaul, an electric arc appeared in one of the transformer cells – EPS announced.

The accident occurred at the Batajnički drum at number 23, and the worker was taken to the Emergency Center with severe burns in the ambulance.

The injured worker’s colleagues were shocked and shocked, and further investigation will determine all the exact causes of this accident.

By the way, on that occasion, 2,582 users were without power in the area of ​​Zemun polje, Batajnica and Zemun. EPS teams took to the field as soon as possible in order to repair the fault, the EPS announcement adds.
