Zoran Gojkovic, a member of the crisis staff, said that the epidemiological situation with the coronavirus in Serbia was extremely unfavorable after more than 1,000 people were infected in one day, adding that now an exponential growth in the number of infected people.
“Fortunately, there is still no seasonal flu. It is not enough now. That is good. But new respiratory infections are occurring, everything crosses the clinical picture and the health system will be in big trouble,” Gojkovic told radio and television serbia. (RTS).
He said that health capacities in Serbia are not filling as fast as in the previous period, but that the “numbers” give cause for concern.
Speaking about the meeting of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić with the directors of the Kovid hospitals, Gojković, who is also the provincial health secretary, stated that “the whole picture” will be agreed after that meeting.
“We will agree on how to further protect the citizens and the health system of Serbia. To try to get through the period ahead in the best possible way,” he said.
