There was no “take it or leave it” with Vučić

Ivica Dacic, who was elected Speaker of Parliament, told reporters in the Serbian Parliament that his conversation with Aleksandar Vučić did not take place in the categories of “take it or leave it” or “I need it, I don’t need it”, stating that the leader of the Serbian Progressive Party had several variants , but that was not for the public story.

Dacic thus responded to the question whether he would have chosen that position if he had been able to choose.

He also noted that the fact that the media did not know about it until President Aleksandar Vučić announced it speaks of their mutual trust.

He added that he wants to take the work in the Assembly seriously and announced the next session on Saturday, in which the Law of Ministries will be discussed, which, as he said, is a precondition for the formation of the Government.

“My task is to protect the parliament from attacks on that institution and from those who want to demote it, as well as the whole of Serbia,” said Dacic, who is the chairman of the Socialist Party of Serbia.

He recalled President Vučić’s statement that parliament will play an important role in social dialogue, but added that he has just taken office, so he cannot talk about that right now.
