Payment of the minimum wage for approximately 1.1 million employees in 237,000 companies in Serbia, who applied for this type of state support, begins tomorrow, and the money will be credited to those companies’ special accounts.
Finance Minister Siniša Mali said the state allocates 33 billion dinars for the first payment, while the total amount will be three times higher, because it will pay for three minimum wages per employee, and will amount to more than 90 thousand million dinars.
Mali said that 237,000 employers requested state aid in the form of three minimum payments totaling 750 euros (about 90,000 dinars), and that more than 1,100,000 employees applied.
The average minimum wage in Serbia this year is 30,022 dinars, that is, the hourly minimum wage is 172.54 dinars (net) as of January 1.
Entrepreneurs, flat-rate entrepreneurs, their colleagues in the same state: farmers, legal entities classified as micro, small and medium … are entitled to state assistance.
Payment, by the way, is made in three installments: May, June and July of this year.
When it comes to large legal entities, they are entitled to non-reimbursable funds in the amount of 50 percent of the basic net minimum wage for March 2020, for employees whose decision determined the termination of work after the introduction of the state of emergency. Payment to your accounts will also begin tomorrow in the amount of 50 percent of the minimum wage for the month of March, and then in June and July. And they are required to open a dedicated account to which the state will pay them money.
The company loses the right to use tax benefits and direct benefits if, in the period from the introduction of the state of emergency to the expiration of three months from the last payment of direct benefits, it reduces the number of employees by more than 10 percent.
