The newly appointed ambassador of Serbia to the United States, Marko Đurić, said he was elected to that position at a time when the two countries are on the brink of a possible redefinition of relations, which, despite the hostilities of the recent past and disagreements that still exist between the two countries should return to normal. of old friendship and alliance.

It also points out that the threat of new massive acts of violence and expulsion “hung” over the heads of the Serbs.
“Today, Serbs are able to fight for their position and interests in Kosovo and Metohija with political means and one vote,” said the former head of the government office.
When asked to comment on the fact that Albanians have not formed a community of Serbian municipalities for more than seven years, Đurić stated that Albanians have an obsessive need to eradicate Serbs as a political, demographic and economic factor, and that ZSO is designed as a guarantee of survival and development. “The office for Kosovo and Metohija remains in safe and reliable hands, and our people in the southern province will be able to rely on it,” Đurić said.
Concerning the Serbian Progressive Party and the upcoming Presidential session, Đurić hopes that, as he himself says, decisions will be taken that are in the best interest of the citizens of Serbia.
When asked about his relationship with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, Đurić says that they are colleagues and comrades in arms, but also that he considers Vučić as his teacher or political mentor.
“I am proud to be part of a team led by such a man and statesman,” Đurić said.
