REGISTRATION EARNED 530,000 EUROS PER MONTH: The Tax Administration received 27,866 applications for annual income tax

From year to year, the number of those who earn more than most increases. A year ago, there were about 23,000 and a year ago there were about 2,000 fewer. What does not change is that most millionaires work in and around Belgrade. Of the 100 highest reported incomes, up to 68 percent belong to taxpayers of the territory covered by the Department of Fiscal Control Coordination in Belgrade.

Among the wealthy, the majority are our citizens: 85 percent, while foreigners represent 15 percent. Men still convincingly earn the highest wages – they account for up to 88 percent of the wealthy subject to taxes. And, as a rule, they are managers. The most commonly reported occupations are manager, director, and engineer.

– Reported income for the top 100 taxpayers with the highest reported income ranges from about 61 to about 749 million dinars, taxpayers say. – According to the processed data, the Tax Administration of the Republic of Serbia received a total of 27,866 requests for the determination of the annual personal income tax for 2019, within the legally prescribed period. Citizens earning more than 2,729,304.00 dinars in 2019, that is, more than three times the average annual salary per employee paid in the Republic of Serbia in that year, were required to declare annual income tax, according to data from the Office of Statistics of the Republic.

Taxpayers received the most applications from New Belgrade: 4,969. There are only 100 less rich people in the center of the capital: 4,896. It is followed by Novi Sad with 2,993 applications, followed by the municipalities of Voždovac 1,969 and Čukarica 1,924 in Belgrade. There are 1,853 millionaires in Zvezdara and 1,522 in Zemun. At the bottom of the scale are Vranje with 102 applications, Pirot 114 and Leskovac with 179.

Tax returns for annual personal income tax can be filed on paper and electronically. Through the portal of the Tax Administration – ePorezi, 35 percent of the requests for the determination of the annual income tax for 2019 were received.
