The reported income for the top 100 taxpayers with the highest reported income ranges from around 61 million dinars to around 749 million dinars, the Tax Administration announced.
Of the top 100 reported earnings, 68 percent are Belgrade taxpayers, 85 nationals and 15 foreigners.
The most commonly reported occupations for “millionaires” are manager, director, and engineer, while 88 percent of recorded occupations are male.
After New Belgrade, the most millionaires in the capital were registered in the center of Belgrade, 4,869, and the fewest applications in Zemun, 1,522.
Novi Sad and Nis are the first behind Belgrade
After Belgrade, the first on the list is Novi Sad with 2,993 millionaires, and the next first city in Serbia with the most citizens requesting the determination of annual income tax is Nis – 884.
After Nis, Kragujevac has the most millionaires: 633, Pancevo – 417, Zrenjanin – 395, Subotica – 356, Cacak – 342, Uzice – 305, Sremska Mitrovica – 268, Krusevac – 225, Jagodina – 204, Zajecar – 215 and Leskovac – 179.
The Tax Administration claims that citizens who earned more than 2,729,304 dinars in 2019, that is, more than three times the average annual salary per employee paid in Serbia in that year, were required to declare annual income tax, according to data from the Office of Statistics of the Republic. .
Tax returns for annual personal income tax can be filed on paper and electronically.
35 percent of the requests for the determination of the annual income tax for 2019 were received through the portal of the Tax Administration ePorezi, according to the Tax Administration.
