Former Kosovo Minister for Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Edita Tahiri, declared today, on the occasion of the statement of the EU Special Representative, Miroslav Lajcak, that the Constitution of Kosovo is not the Bible and that it can always be changed, that Serbia can change its constitution.
“After Lajcak’s recent visit to Kosovo and Serbia, my message is that the starting point of the final agreement is for Serbia to change the constitution by removing Kosovo from it. I am speaking from the position of former head of negotiations where I was for seven years, “Edita Tahiri wrote on Twitter.
The special envoy of the EU for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Miroslav Lajcak, said yesterday in Belgrade that everything related to the Union of Serbian Municipalities has already been agreed and signed and must be carried out, as well as that the Constitution of Kosovo can be change and that is not the Bible.
Editi Tahiri was also answered by the former head of the Belgrade negotiating team, Marko Đurić. She said that she can change the Serbian Constitution if she stands and wins the elections in Serbia, to which she is entitled as a citizen of our country.
– If it wants a comprehensive standardization, Pristina will have to implement the agreement on the Union of Serbian Municipalities, which provides for changes to Pristina’s regulations, including the so-called constitution – Đurić noted.
He recalled that Tahiri participated in the negotiation of that part of the agreement and that he is well aware of Pristina’s obligations.
– It is impossible to escape from obligations – Đurić declared.
