The cold snap has already created chaos in neighboring Croatia and, as can be seen from the radar images, it has largely reached Serbia, and by the afternoon it should spread throughout the country.
As announced by the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic of Serbia, which issued a warning and an announcement of a big change in the climate, the amount of precipitation in a day is expected, which is recorded on average throughout October, so torrents can overflow, especially in the Kolubara basin. and parts of West Morava.
An orange weather alarm is in effect in the western parts of Serbia and a yellow one in the central parts, while the eastern parts will experience fewer storms. However, tomorrow they will be the most affected.
“A large part of the region will receive more than 100% of this month’s average precipitation by tomorrow night. During the night, mountains more than 1,000 meters above sea level can expect snow. The heaviest precipitation should expected from this afternoon until Tuesday morning, so they can arrive in a very short time. “There will be a sharp increase in water levels in torrents, mountain streams and in some places there may be a short-term effusion”, warned geography professor and meteorologist Marko Cubrilo for “Blic”.
It is interesting that the temperature in Belgrade is dropping this morning. Thus, at 6:00 we had 15 degrees, and at 9:00, according to data from the Hydrometeorological Institute of the Republic, only 11.
