Now a decision is being made to order custody

Ivan Kontić (30), who was arrested in Podgorica for the attempted murder of a young man in Novi Sad, is currently with the competent judge who will decide on ordering the arrest, says Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanović.

Kontic, suspected of brutally beating a 28-year-old man on Jevrejska Street in Novi Sad on August 24, was arrested yesterday in Podgorica, and Minister Stefanovic claims that the Interpol warrant issued by Serbia is still behind him.

– We want him to come to Serbia, to be tried here. I hope that in the next few days we will know more details about the decisions, now it is in the hands of the judiciary – said Stefanović on TV Pink.

He thanked his colleagues in Montenegro, who he says worked professionally with the Serbian police on the case from the start.

Stefanović claimed that Montenegrin police found information indicating the location of the apartment in Podgorica where Kontić was hiding.

– At this time, it is expected that he will be brought before the competent judge who will decide on ordering the arrest – said Stefanović.

Stefanović also referred to the attempt to politicize the case due to accusations that someone was protecting Kontić.

– You always say the same thing. What is the problem when you listen to what Djilas, Obradovic, Jeremic say? There is always a hyperproduction of fake scandals, a variety of fabrications, Stefanović said.

He added that when the situation is resolved, that story stops and a new fabrication begins.
