An AP worker (28) died around 1 pm at the corner of Stanoja Glavaša and Kneza Danila streets in central Belgrade.
According to eyewitnesses, the young man was buried by a large amount of earth and died at the scene of the accident in front of numerous colleagues and neighbors of the surrounding buildings.
– The young man slipped and fell into the hole where they work. Suddenly, only a large amount of dirt fell on him, says a witness to the tragedy.
As they reached the young man, he suffocated under the weight of the ground.
Other workers were shocked by the tragedy. They cry and stare in disbelief in the hole where the horror occurred.
They did not want to comment for the media, but according to unofficial information, the AP has been working with them for the past two weeks to repair pipes in that part of the city.
Firefighters had to use a ladder to get the boy’s body out of the deep hole.
