BELGRADE – President Aleksandar Vučić commented this evening on the information leaked to the public that, together with representatives of the National Convention, at the suggestion of one of them, he paid tribute to the Albanians found in a mass grave in Batajnica, saying that he will defend to all who died. in some conflict, hoping there will be no more conflict.
Vučić thus responded to the question to explain whether the information that he paid tribute to Albanians killed while standing at the meeting with the National Convention is correct.
He said that, by the way, it was agreed at the meeting not to reveal to the public what was said and what happened at that meeting.
“I know that I did not tell anyone what was happening, and that it was not the representatives of the EU, the ambassadors. Enough of the part and the moral of those who made the information about the meeting public,” he said.
Vučić said that in that meeting he tried to answer all the questions, listen to all the people, listen to their opinion, which was in agreement with some, but not with others.
“One of those present, I think Naim Leon Besiri, said at one point that we should stand up and pay tribute to the murdered Albanians. They all stood up and I, as a decent man, will always stand up. Vučić said he didn’t want to talk about whether it was a trick, but that elemental decency ordered him to stand up.
“Because someone has no morals, so he brings to the public something that has been agreed to be carried out under the rule of the ‘chetham house rule’ … my conscience is completely clear,” he said.
