Belgrade – Serbian President Aleksandar Vui stated that the region will receive eight billion euros from the European Union in a grant, as well as 20 billion through various projects.

He said that one of the most important projects was the introduction of the Internet in rural areas, following a meeting with the EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelj.
“73 million euros are earmarked for that project alone,” he said.
He said we look forward to every euro that reaches the region.
“We are also satisfied when our commissions receive money,” he said.
He said they also discussed infrastructure projects. “We rush to build as many roads and railways, we have even more support from Europe,” he said.
Wui also appreciated the funding of the Ni-Merdare highway. “They gave us 40.3 million euros, I hope we have support for roads, railways,” he said.
“These are projects, great things,” he said.
Vui hopes that Serbia can count on support during the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway.

When asked if there is a problem with Chinese, European and American investments in Serbia, Varhelji says he does not notice it.

Of course, I see that Chinese investors are showing interest and I think we have a better offer on the table, “Varhelji said.
Vui noted that he is very grateful to EU taxpayers, because the largest amount of investment comes from EU countries.
